The Committee 2023-2024

Cole Baldam -
Club Captain

This is my 4th year where I have been part of this fantastic club. Joining was one of the best decisions I’ve made during my time at University! I’m looking forward to leading the club through what will definitely be another great year. I’ve been competing in triathlon for a few years now, but we are a very inclusive club that aims to help people develop in the sport no matter their starting ability.

Hi, I’m Lucy. I’m a 3rd year med student and this is my second year in the club. My first year of tri has been so much fun and everyone has been so kind and welcoming! Before joining I had only tried running, but tri is very beginner friendly and I have grown to love all 3 disciplines. The tri club has become one my favourite parts of uni life and I can't wait to see what next year has in store!

Fin Anderson -
Treasurer

Coming into my fifth year of tri this year, and it’s safe to say I love the club and the amazing environment it has. Across my years, there has been a number of new faces, but the welcoming and supportive club ethos has never changed. As cliche as it sounds, the decision to join has been the best of my uni career and I really feel like I’ve met ‘my’ people. I’d recommend joining to anyone, and hopefully see you in September!

As you can see from this picture of me in full flow, I take racing seriously...

Only joking, this is my 2nd year with the club, and I've got a lot of love for the tri club. From the holiday in Calp, to rides to Lincoln and hiking in the Peaks, I love what the tri club has to offer. Can't wait to organize and meet you all at races next year!

Else Blakeley -
Kit Secretary

A little bit about me:

- I only swim non-wetsuit.

- My favourite islands are the Channel Islands.

- My favourite island to swim around is Jersey.

- My favourite coffee shop is coffee Revs, I don't drink coffee anywhere else.

Can't wait to meet you all there next year!

It's my second year in the club and I'm very excited to take care of Welfare & Inclusions this year. I'm a PhD student at the Department of Politics, although I do ethics and political philosophy. If you ever have any worry, just let me know!

(note: the sheep is not Diego)

Joe Griggs -
Events & Development Training Officer

I was inspired to join tri club after finding out my grandad completed his first triathlon at 60 years old. Sure enough, I’ve had a fantastic year and cannot wait for the next one. The training is great, but the people really make it. Everyone is so supportive and great to train with, no matter what ability. I hope to provide plenty of quality sessions this year and can’t wait to meet you all!

Nathan Coy -
Training Coordinator

I have been coaching Triathlon for a number of years and competing for many more. This is my second year in Sheffield and have loved my time in the triathlon club so far. The training was great last year and I can't wait to make it even better this year.

Sam Turner

Hi I’m Sam, this is my second year at tri and 3rd year at uni and I’m one of the social secs this year! I really enjoyed tri last year and I’m keen to make it even more cohesive and friendly, with different kinds of socials that suit everyone. Interests include cycling, running, swimming (not very well), and potato scallops (pictured). Looking forward to getting to know all members, old and new more this year

Maddy Anderson -
Social Secretary

Hiya I’m Maddy and this is my second year in the club. Its been a huge and amazing part of my university experience. The club feels like a little family with the lovely bunch of all abilities. Before joining Tri I only really had experience in swimming but have never felt out of my depth or uncomfortable and its been so fun trying out new things including some races. So excited to get the club together and have lots of fun throughout the year!

Social Charities and Publicity Secretary

Whether you're a first timer, or a weathered Ironman finisher, the Uni tri club is the place to be. With the Peaks on our doorstep, how else to better explore than by foot, water and getting dropped on two wheels. There's always someone in the club around to give advice, and the craic is always top draw. Can't wait to welcome everyone new and old in September!
