Charity Events
In our first Charity Week (27th April - 3rd May) Lauren ran our first charity event. The aim was to run, cycle or swim the distance to the cancelled training holiday in one week: 1992km to Alcudia.
The week was a huge success with 40 people (club members and non-club members) taking part and travelling just over 4000km in total! As a club we raised an amazing £515 for the chosen charity: Sheffield Hospitals Charity, to support our local hospitals in the difficult times they are facing.
To show off the hard work of the people in the club, a short video was made to show the achievement!
In 2020 we created a new position on the committee: Charity and Wellbeing Officer!
In November came our second Charity Week (23rd-29th) for our new year charity Roundabout Sheffield. Roundabout is a charity that seeks to help homeless youth to find shelter and develop skills.
The rules of the week were to run for a limit of one hour or cycle for two while completing a series of challenges for bonus points. We had club members swimming in CVP, attempting Winnats pass and running in tri suits!
The whole week was great fun and we raised a total of £240 for a very important charity!
Keep your eyes peeled for what we get up to next...
